We live in a beautiful world

The calm before and after the biggest storm in a while

Super Saola was a 10. Nature has the power to stop everything.

After a calm Friday with only extra high tides as a clue, typhoon Saola picked up speed and reached hurricane levels by midnight but damage was limited.

The eye wall passed over quickly with winds from the north and by the time they shifted to offshore southerlies, she had moved away from Hong Kong and high tide was still hours away.

Heavy rains let up early Saturday morning before the high tide storm surge and by Sunday all that remained was the sound of chain saws on a fresh breeze and sunny blue sky.
