Sun Ferry departs on a regular schedule from Central Pier 6 next to the popular Star Ferry.  The last ferry leaves South Lantau around midnight with one sailing in the wee hours. The double-hull fast ferry takes 30 minutes and the slow ferry takes up to 50 minutes, depending on the presence of cargo ships in the sea lane. Download the app for schedules and fares and prepare to pay extra on weekends and public holidays. Ask about access for companion animals on some but not all sailings.
