3. Create a comfortable environment by using an air conditioner or fan in your home, even when your dog is home alone.

4. Hot pavements (and sand) can cause burns on sensitive paw pads. Test the ground temperature with your hand before walking your dog and choose shaded routs or grassy areas whenever possible.

5. Watch our for signs of heat stress, such as excessive panting, drooling, sluggishness or disorientation. If you notice these symptoms, move your dog to a cooler environment and seek veterinary attention if needed.
